Vertigo - a Guide

Introduction

Home

Welcome to our guide to vertigo, dizziness and balance.

Vertigo and dizziness are common symptoms and are not always easy to diagnose. Patients will sometimes go from one physician to another seeking answers. The information provided in this web-site may give patients some insight into these problems.

The content of this web-site was originally developed for our own patients who suffer from vertigo or dizziness. We hope that placing this information on the web will be a help to others.

We do however stress that this information should in no way replace the need for full and proper evaluation by the patient's own physician. Most patients who suffer from chronic or recurrent dizziness do not have a life-threatening condition. However on occasion, with certain symptoms, immediate evaluation and treament may be indicated and the reader is advised to view the page on this site entitled "Urgent conditions".

However we do emphasize that all patients who have significant dizzy symptoms should be evaluated by a physician.

Like most web-sites this site is in the process of development and more pages may be completed or edited as time goes by.
